The Texas Rangers were hoping that the confines of Globe Life Park would help to end this series against the Toronto Blue Jays but the Jays had other thoughts and came into the game with a pitching plan. Enter Marco Estrada, who has quietly picked up 13 wins this season for the Blue Jays. Estrada helped guide the team to a strong 5-1 victory.
“He’s been so big for us this year, and we need to be confident; this is our last straw right here,” Toronto Manager John Gibbons said before the game. “I expect he’s going to go out there and have a heck of a ball game.
And a heck of a game he did have, pitching 6 1/3rd innings with only one run off of five hits, he struck out six and walked zero.
. “We knew that we were facing a really good team in the Jays, and their offense is really good,” Adrian Beltre told MLB.Com’s T.R. Sullivan. “Even though we lost the last two games, we’re still confident. We know we have the team to do it, and we’ve gone and won there twice, so why can’t we do it one more time?”
